Patrick Mavhura is the CEO of the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation since June 2017. He was previously the acting CEO of the Public Broadcaster for 3 years. He has driven the company from a loss of more than US$16million in 2013 to US$1million, back when he was the Head of Finance. Patrick played a major role in pioneering the broadcast of minority languages bulletins live on TV in 2016. The ZBC now broadcasts in 8 languages up from the 3 previous years. He also was actively involved in the digital migration management of Zimbabwe. Patrick hosted the World Radio Day on behalf of SADC countries after being nominated by African Union of Broadcasting. The nomination came through after the appreciation by the AUB CEO on his visit to the country was impressed by the way the Broadcaster interacts with the public in its live outside broadcasts. The corporation managed to come up with a $40 million revenue 3-year Turnaround Strategy that it is implementing (2017-2019). The strategy redefined the corporation’s vision, core-mission and gave a blueprint to a value creating business model.
